The (AKh) General Hospital Linz takes an innovative course concerning intern communication. The newly opened online platform, especially for general hospital interns, provides a community area with a forum, a blog area, a download area and a photo gallery. The topics range from both professional to private. The design is refreshingly congenial, with authentic pictures, and just the right thing for an interesting exchange between colleagues during a break from the stressful workday life of an intern, as well as catering for a personal bonding to the house. Another important target group are medical students, who gather information about the general hospital internship via taeo.at, and who are can apply for a medical traineeship, practical training, summer school or an internship. The intern communication project, “Estragon”, is, up to now, unique in Austria, and, in addition to other accompanying measures, is intended to make the General Hospital Linz an attractive place for the best interns to go.
